Buštěhrad: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Buštěhrad Castle is considered Buštěhrad’s most significant landmark, a Baroque castle with a Neoclassical chapel. The restored castle park has been open to visitors since 2012 and complements the historic ensemble with a freely accessible green space.

Culture and History

The history of the town also reaches back to its brewing tradition: the first, and therefore oldest, written record of the Buštěhrad brewery dates from 1548. The former brewery administration building, House No. 111, which is protected as a historic monument, features a typologically interesting and rare roof structure known as a “skružový krov”.

Another distinctive building is the 1933 water tower, an architecturally valuable functionalist structure. The church in Buštěhrad was consecrated on 27 February 1898.

One exhibition section of Buštěhrad’s Ota Pavel Museum focused on the life and work of Ota Pavel and included documents, photographs, and objects from his life, including his typewriter, fishing rods, and a teddy bear from his childhood. A second exhibition section focused on the history of Buštěhrad and the life of František Rott, who was one of the founders of the local Sokol association. Popper House, No. 54, is also associated with Ota Pavel: it is one of the 34 stops on the Ota Pavel Trail in Buštěhrad.

The Stará kanalizační čistírna Praha-Bubeneč, listed as a museum, is also located nearby. In the wider region are Letohrádek královny Anny, listed as a chateau, Galerie Rudolfinum, listed as a museum, and Palác Kinských, listed as a palace.

Landscape

The “Buštěhrad History Trail” takes visitors to historically interesting places in Buštěhrad. The educational tourist trail uses 26 publicly accessible ceramic frames on houses to present the history of Starý Hrad and its surroundings.

Buštěhrad and its surroundings offer suitable conditions for cycling, interesting terrain formations, and unusual views of the landscape, especially towards České Středohoří. The hill listed as (Na Horkách) [Malé Přítočno] is located nearby. The wider region also includes Střelecký ostrov and Slovanský ostrov, listed as islands, as well as Doutnáč, listed as a mountain.
