Archaeological Traces
The Acheulean archaeological site in Hořešovičky was discovered in autumn 2002. It yielded a large collection of stone tools made from knapped stone, predominantly local Palaeozoic chert.
At a depth of 1.6 metres, the grave of a woman described as wealthy, dating from the 4th to 3rd century BC, was found in the garden of house No. 27 in Hořešovičky.
A settlement existed a few hundred metres northwest of Hořešovičky during the 2nd to 3rd century. In addition, a settlement from the older Roman Imperial period extended near Hořešovičky on a southeastern slope descending towards the Bílichovský stream. Several sunken huts, pits and postholes were identified at the Roman Imperial-period site; two Roman bronze vessels were also found there.
