Hobšovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Church of Saint Wenceslas is a distinctive landmark in the landscape around Hobšovice. The original church was Gothic; in 1850, a Baroque tower with three bells was added to its western side.

Culture and history

Since 4 February 2024, the Minimuzeum panenek has been located in the former shop premises at Hobšovice No. 20. Historical and retro dolls, as well as other toys, are on display. Visits can also be arranged for another date.

On the road to Luníkov stands a monument with a statue of the risen Christ. It was erected in 1878 in memory of two young people who tragically lost their lives there. The Neoclassical monument was restored in 2012 and 2013 and subsequently returned to its original location.

Nature and landscape

Hobšovický Pond lies on the Bakovský stream in the western part of the Hobšovice cadastral area. The pond is a specially protected natural monument covering approximately 10 hectares. It is also a regional biocentre and is protected because of a significant bird breeding site and the wetland communities found there. Numerous gulls breed every year on an island in Hobšovický Pond.

The protected area Mokřiny u Beřovic also includes the Hobšovice cadastral area. Mokřiny u Beřovic is protected as a significant breeding, resting and migratory bird area, as well as a habitat for wetland animals and plants.

Nature trail and events

The nature trail along the Bakovský, Vranský and Zlonický rivers, opened in 2013, has Station 19 in Hobšovice. The trail comprises 21 stations in total; the routes can be combined into different lengths.

The traditional St Bartholomew’s pilgrimage takes place in Hobšovice on the last Saturday in August. The Hobšovice motoring exchange is considered a traditional event. In summer, a refreshment stand is open every afternoon at the sports ground in Hobšovice.
