Nature

In the immediate vicinity of Opočnice lies Vinný vrch hill. It is located approximately 0.5 km west of Opočnice, in the cadastral area of Opočnice. The Vinný vrch nature reserve was designated in 1973 to protect a rich occurrence of lily anthericum. Vinný vrch is home to a very large population of sand lizards, as well as invertebrate wildlife, especially molluscs and insects. Xerothermic grasslands are also found there.

Culture

The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius has a 46-metre-high tower with a square floor plan. To this day, 14 Stations of the Cross paintings can be seen in the church in Opočnice. The statue of the Holy Trinity is located in Opočnice municipal park; it was consecrated on 29 October 1854.

A memorial plaque for the victims of the First World War and the legionnaires is located on the Opočnice municipal office building. The monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars stands in a park in Opočnice at an intersection 100 metres south of the municipal office. Opočnické divadélko decided to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the first mention of amateur theatre in Opočnice.
