Jíkev: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

A war memorial stands in Jíkev village park, commemorating the victims of both World Wars. The sandstone memorial to the fallen was ceremonially unveiled in 1920 and created by the Hořice sculptors Josef Deyl and František Vejse. It lists 24 men from Jíkev who died in the First World War, as well as three victims of the Second World War.

Culture and history

Another historical trace is the Sokolovna. It is housed in a former municipal granary acquired in 1882. The former granary was converted into the Sokolovna by TJ Sokol in 1932. Historical theatre performances, masquerade balls and dance events were held at the Sokolovna. Jíkev is also home to the gate of farmstead No. 34.

Landscape and water

Mount U Borku (Záhornice u Městce Králové) is located in the area around Jíkev. The nearby hills Šibinka (Loučeň), Tuzarovsko (Loučeň-Patřín) and Vrchy (Krchleby u Nymburka) are also in the vicinity. The Ronovka stream flows through Jíkev. In 1936, the village square was landscaped, a park was created and a water basin was built.
