Kamenné Zboží: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kamenné Zboží is a place whose character can be concretely described through its buildings, landscape features, and local traditions.

History and Townscape

The first written mention of Kamenné Zboží dates from 1495. Former marl quarries are located in the western part of Kamenné Zboží. The former marl quarries are now built up; they contain 30 houses.

The originally Baroque chapel has stood here since the 18th century and was structurally modified toward the end of the 19th century. It is made of masonry, has a square floor plan, a hipped roof, and a tower-like bell structure. A memorial to those who fell in the First and Second World Wars stands next to the chapel. There is a cross in front of House No. 50.

Landscape

A pond divided into three sections lies on the southern edge of Kamenné Zboží. Hiking and cycling trails from nearby Nymburk also extend into the area of Kamenné Zboží.

Culture and Tradition

The local Blace fishing club organizes fishing competitions several times a year. Posvícení takes place on November 1. The traditional pilgrimage is associated with the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul on June 29.

Transport

Kamenné Zboží has a double-track, electrified railway line belonging to the national railway network.
