Okoř Castle is a Gothic castle ruin in the valley of the Zákolanský potok stream. At the highest point of the ruin stand the remains of a large tower with a chapel.

Culture and History

The castle also provides a setting for events. The Svatováclavská slavnost at Okoř Castle is scheduled as an all-day event for 19 September 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00. The programme includes knight fights, competitions for children, a historical market, as well as music, singing and dancing.

The summer programme in Okoř includes markets on the meadow, as well as fencing, theatre and music performances at the castle. On 30 August 2026, the theatre performance “Bílá paní na vdávání” will also be shown at 19:00.

Nature and Trails

The protected Okolí Okoře a Budče Nature Park also extends across the area of Okoř. A trail along the Zákolanský potok leads to the ruins of Okoř Castle. Okoř is considered a starting point for walks in the surrounding area in both summer and winter.

In suitable weather, a meadow in Okoř is suitable as a picnic spot for families and offers a view of the castle.

Routes Around Okoř

A cycling route approximately 12.5 km long from the outskirts of Prague leads via Purkrabský háj, Přední Kopanina, Tuchoměřice, and Malé and Velké Číčovice to Okoř.

The “Putování českou historií okolo Okoře” route is considered moderately difficult; it involves more metres of descent than ascent. Halfway along, it passes Okoř Castle and runs through the valley of the Zákolanský potok to the Přemyslid hillfort of Budeč.

Public Transport

Okoř is easily accessible by the integrated public transport network. Noutonice railway station is served by lines S54 and T4 and is located approximately 2.5 km from Okoř.
