Nosálov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nosálov is listed as a protected heritage reserve. At the same time, it is a well-preserved, self-contained village with an expansive layout around the village square, complemented by more recent development.

Landscape and Trails

Nosálov lies about 6 km north of Mšeno in the picturesque, hilly landscape of the Polomené hory at an elevation of 382 m and extends along the southeastern slope of Vrátenská hora. The village forms one of the gateways to the Kokořínsko–Máchův kraj Protected Landscape Area and is a starting point for hiking trails of varying difficulty in the eastern part of the Polomené hory.

Several marked hiking and cycling loops run around Nosálov. Vrátenská hora lies directly on a marked blue hiking trail and on cycle route No. 143. Selnerovo hradiště is about 150 metres from a marked green hiking trail.

Historical Traces

The village heritage reserve in Nosálov includes the niche chapel of the Holy Trinity on the village square; an inscription dates it to 1808. Petrovina, also known as Vítkova jeskyně, is an approximately 15-metre-long pseudokarst cave that was artificially enlarged in the Middle Ages. Selnerovo hradiště is a long, narrow terrain spur of approximately two hectares, with ramparts dating from the early to the High Middle Ages.

Cikánský kámen is a naturally hollowed-out rock grotto that probably served as an overnight and rest stop for travellers on their way to Žitava. Today, Cikánský kámen is considered a popular place for hikers to rest and spend time. The village's history also records that in 1842 there were approximately 95 small hop gardens in Nosálov.

Views and Special Destinations

Vrátenská rozhledna is open to the public at set times and offers views across the whole of northeastern Bohemia, the Ralská pahorkatina and the Česká Lípa region. The panorama extends from Bezděz Castle to the Jizera Mountains, Ještěd and the western Giant Mountains.

The Petrovina Cave can be reached via a steep path and is considered a popular destination for hitchhikers, tourists and people who want to explore mysterious underground spaces.
