Ledce: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Ledce combines a local history dating back to the Middle Ages with a lively theatre culture, a cycle path on a former railway trackbed and a clearly defined natural area.

Culture and History

The first written record of Ledce dates from 1249; at that time, the place was described as a vladyčí estate. The Chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Ledce was built in 1873.

The open-air theatre plays a special role in the cultural life of the community. It was built by local residents in 1955 and is still in operation today. The amateur theatre ensemble active in Ledce stages theatre performances for the surrounding area every year. The performances take place either in the open-air theatre or in the hall, which has a stage with full theatre equipment and a curtain.

In the centre of Ledce stands a war memorial dedicated to the victims of the First and Second World Wars. It bears the names of 34 fallen residents. These events are commemorated every year with a memorial ceremony held as part of the National Pilgrimage. The historic village square also points to earlier structures: it once had four ponds named Nádržka, Mlíčník, Sádka and Návesní.

Nature and Landscape

The Ledce–hájovna protected area was first designated on 8 July 2012. It protects a summer colony of greater mouse-eared bats (Myotis myotis) in the attic spaces of the forester’s lodge. The Jabkenicko Nature Park is also part of the landscape surrounding the municipality of Ledce.

Cycle Path between Ledce and Dobrovice

The Dobrovice–Ledce cycle path was completed in April 2025. The approximately 6 km-long path runs through the cadastral area of Ledce, follows a former railway trackbed and connects Ledce with Dobrovice.
