Kroučová: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Kroučová is situated on the Džbán upland, directly on the watershed of several watercourses that rise in its immediate vicinity.
Nature
Kroučová lies in the deep forests of the “Přírodní park Džbán” nature park. The “Knížecí studánka” spring is also located in Kroučová’s cadastral area.
The “Pochvalovská stráň” nature reserve protects natural communities of marl outcrops with occurrences of bearberry and Alpine buckthorn, as well as natural thermophilous shrubs, thermophilous oak forests and ravine forests. Along its northern edge run a red-marked hiking trail from Rakovník via Smilovice and Dřevíč to Louny, and a green-marked hiking trail from Pnětluky to Žerotín.
Culture
A distinctive architectural feature is the “Kostel sv. Markéty” church, built from marlstone from the Džbán area. Its altar faces west.
Hop growing is also part of the village’s history: the “První chmelařský spolek v Království Českém” was founded in 1891 by hop growers in Kroučová.
Hiking trails
The “Uhelná stezka Kroučová” is a 5 km circular trail that starts and ends on the village green. Eight stations with information panels provide information about the nature, history and sights of Kroučová and its surroundings.
The blue-marked hiking route connects with a red route from Rakovník to Louny.
