Krepenice: apartments and holiday homes

Křepenice is shaped by a remarkable history of fortifications. At its centre is the Krčín Fortress, completed as a Renaissance fortress in 1584. The complex preserves a surrounding wall, two gates and three tower-like corner bastions. In the central palace, remnants of original wall paintings with mythological themes have been preserved.

History and culture

The protected buildings of the Jakub Krčín fortress complex include the main building of the fortress, the north-western building with a gate, the south-western and south-eastern buildings, the so-called sheepfold, the surrounding wall with the east gate, the northern utility building, the access bridge and all plots of the complex. The privately owned Krčín Fortress can be visited by arrangement with the owners.

The chapel bell tower in Křepenice has a floor plan in the shape of half an irregular octagon. Křepenice is also mentioned in a deed of donation for Břevnov Monastery dated 1045 and described as a 13th-century forgery.

Nature and trails

Forests cover 30 % of the area of Křepenice. The hills of Libešov offer a beautiful view of Křepenice and the surrounding area. Nearby, the Drbákov-Albertovy skály educational trail is seven kilometres long and has 11 stations with views of the Vltava Valley.

A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Křepenice. A blue-marked hiking route leads from the Krčín Fortress in less than three kilometres to the edge of the 61-hectare protected area of the Drbákov–Albertovy skály National Nature Reserve.

Cycling connections

The 23 km-long cycle route 301 connects Křepenice with Krásná Hora nad Vltavou. Cycle route 8132 leads from Vojkov to Křepenice.
