Klíčany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Baroque chapel of Klíčany dates from 1774. Its façade features a triangular gable, and it is crowned by a prismatic bell tower. Its location in a small park gives this building a clearly defined place in the townscape.

History and Architectural Heritage

The oldest surviving building in Klíčany is a bell tower dating from 1774. The first written mention of the village dates from 1380.

The monuments on Hlavní Street also preserve specific memories: The monument to the victims of the First World War stands next to the main road from Zdiby to Postřižín; its inscription commemorates the liberation and the fallen soldiers. The Josef Cerha monument on Hlavní Street records his death on 7 May 1945.

Location and Landscape

Klíčany lies approximately 14 kilometres north of the centre of Prague and approximately 19 kilometres west of Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav. The village is located in a typically agricultural area.

Transport and Connections

The D8 motorway and Road II/608 run through the cadastral area of Klíčany. Bus routes 370 and 372 provide the connection between Kobylisy, Zdiby, Klíčany and Odolena Voda. In addition, Prague suburban transport connects Klíčany with the capital.

Sport and Cycling Route

The TJ Klíčany football pitch is located at Sokolská 97 in Klíčany. The club has four football teams – from the men's team and youth teams to the youngest preparatory team.

Cycling route 8267 connects Zdiby-Přemyšlení, Klecany, Klíčany, Panenské Břežany and Odolena Voda-Dolínek.
