Křížkový Újezdec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Křížkový Újezdec combines a documented history with distinctive landscape and local features: the village was first mentioned in written records on 26 November 1349.

History and Culture

A monument has stood on the hill near the hamlet of Na Křížkách since 1931. It bears a dedication to the Hussite people.

Křížkový Újezdec and Čenětice were founded as agricultural dependent villages with small farmsteads and buildings around village squares along a through road.

Landscape and Waterways

The Kamenický (Čakovický) stream rises in Křížkový Újezdec. A 483-metre-high peak, the highest point in the surrounding area, lies in the Okrouhlík Forest. From there, expansive views extend towards the Sázava Valley and in the direction of Benešovsko and Neveklovsko.

The Botič stream rises in Ovčáry; the area is classified as a regionally significant biocorridor. The Botič rises north of Křížkový Újezdec in the Okrouhlík Forest.

Roads and Cycle Route

The international Greenway Praha–Vídeň cycle route runs through Křížkový Újezdec. Neither a railway line nor a siding runs through or near the village; there is also no airfield there.

The only main connection leads northeast towards Radějovice and Olešky. To the east, it continues via neighbouring Petříkov to Velké Popovice.

Village Life

The local volunteer fire brigade organizes social events and firefighting competitions for children and adults every year.
