Hovorčovice: Apartments and Holiday Homes
Culture and History
The Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist is an Early Gothic cultural monument from the last quarter of the 13th century, which was later remodelled in the Baroque style. The complex is located approximately in the centre of Hovorčovice, within an enclosed area bordered by a historic road. It consists of an enclosing wall with a gate, as well as an adjoining northern and southern chapel. The northern chapel has an altar mensa; the interior of the southern chapel is empty and has a plank floor.
The medieval and modern-era centre of Hovorčovice is also an archaeological area with documented or well-founded suspected archaeological finds. The monument to the victims of the First World War stands in Hovorčovice in a small park on Nádražní Street near the church.
