Jizbice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At Koupaliště Zavadilka, there is a 27 × 55 metre concrete pool with a water depth of 0.2 to 2.0 metres. The pool is supplied without recirculation by a constant flow of water from its own well. The swimming area also has mobile sanitary facilities with separate toilets, a urinal and showers with running hot and cold water, as well as a snack stand.

Nature and Trails

Písák Jizbice is open to the public and has visitor furnishings and an educational trail. Visitors should use only the paths and pavements there. Five specially protected species of newts and frogs occur at Písák Jizbice. The area is complemented by a 410-metre-long children's forest trail with 15 stations.

The Stezka Hemžílci od Stračího potoka was created in 2022 and has 15 figures. It is marked in the forest with a blue “H”; maps of the route are available at the fire station in Zavadilka and at Písák in Jizbice. The route is located in Vypáleniny Forest, away from Jizbice and Zavadilka. The Stračí potok stream flows through the forest, where springs rise and ponds are located.

History and Remembrance

Jizbice was first mentioned in writing in 1223; at that time, the Vladyka Pavlík was based there. A regional memorial bench in Jizbice commemorates the Czech typographer and graphic artist Slavoboj Tusar (17 October 1885–5 October 1950), who was born in Jizbice.

The crosses in Jizbice and at Zavadilka were renovated, and the bell tower at Zavadilka was reconstructed. The work was completed in summer 2026. During the dismantling of the roof of the bell tower at Zavadilka, a glass container with documents about previous work on the bell tower from 1912 and 1995 was removed.

Local Life and Culture

The library in Jizbice offers, among other things, books and brochures on local history. The Havranská studánka in Jizbice is a covered spring that is still maintained to this day.

Cycling Route and Other Places

The cycling tour “Z Nymburka do zoo a na zámek Loučeň” runs from Loučeň via Jizbice to Čilec.
