Grunta: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Grunta is an important Neo-Romanesque-Secessionist cultural monument. A printed guide is available for individual visits.

Culture

The village of Grunta was probably founded by German miners in the mid-13th century during the reign of King Přemysl Otakar II (1253–1278). Silver ore had been discovered in the surrounding area at that time.

On 28 March 2026, the sixth edition of Velikonoční stezka took place in Grunta. Children completed various tasks and received small sweets as rewards.

Landscape

In the vicinity of Grunta, the Polabská rovina Kolínska gradually transitions into the kutnohorské vrchy. Kaňk, a hill, is located nearby. The surroundings of Grunta also include Zámek Kačina, a chateau, Hořánck, a mountain, Polepský vrch [Kolín], a hill, and Písečný vrch [Malešov], also a hill.

Hiking

The northern loop of the Stříbrná stezka is a 14-kilometre, moderately difficult route through the Na Vrších Nature Reserve and leads to Grunta. The loop begins and ends at the Na Pašince restaurant in Kaňk and includes 12 stops. From the former Turkaňk mine, it follows a road past an orchard to Grunta.

In Grunta, the educational trail leads to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Grunta and then continues to the yellow and subsequently the green hiking trail marker.

Cycling

The Vinařská naučná cyklotrasa is 4.835 kilometres long and designated as cycle route No. 0091. It connects to the local Kutná Hora–Grunta road.
