Drahobudice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In the village itself, on a hill near the Church of the Most Holy Trinity in the Na Valech area, lies the Drahobudice archaeological site. It is classified as a significant archaeological site in category ÚAN I.

Culture and History

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity was built in 1753–1754 in the late Baroque style by I. J. Palliardi. Its location dates back to an older church of Gothic origin; several Renaissance tombstones from the former church are embedded in the former cemetery wall. The archaeological site includes a ditch and indistinct remains of ramparts.

Behind the presbytery on the eastern side of the church stands the Drahobudice ossuary. A fresco from 1765 has been preserved there, depicting Christ on the cross as well as the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Evangelist.

Things to Do

The 22-kilometre Vavřinecká dvacítka cycling loop begins and ends in Zásmuky and passes through Drahobudice at kilometre 15. Its route uses footpaths, forest roads and paved roads. In the section through Drahobudice, the route leads to a detour to the local church before continuing between fields on a flat section to Bečváry.

Nature

The protected Lípa v Drahobudicích lime tree is 17 metres tall. Its trunk circumference is 284 centimetres, the crown is 14 metres high and 13 metres wide; the measurement dates from 2009. Because of its exceptional growth, aesthetic value and function as a distinctive landmark, the tree is protected.
