Domousnice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Domousnice is a place whose character is revealed through its history, landscape and trails. The castle grounds, vineyards and gently hilly surroundings are among the different facets of the town.
History
Records from 1405 state that Karel Haras z Bosyně owned the estate and part of the noble fortress that stood on the site of today’s Domousnice Castle. The present-day castle was created around 1730 by rebuilding an older manor house. In 1911, the father of the singer Ema Destinnová, Mr Kittl, chose the castle for her summer stay.
The layout of the Domousnice castle park is attributed to Jan Petr Rašín. The castle park contains trees with commemorative status, as well as statues of a woman in ancient attire, a bearded man and the Virgin Mary.
Landscape
Domousnice lies in a gently hilly landscape where forests extend into areas of arable land and meadows. At 365.5 m above sea level, Mílová Hůra is the highest elevation on the northeastern side of Domousnice. To the north, Domousnice offers distant views of the layered horizons of Český ráj, the foothills and the mountain ranges.
