Činěves: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In Činěves, a look at the Church of Saint Wenceslas leads directly into the history of the village: it was built between 1730 and 1732 according to plans by the Lesser Town builder Tomáš Haffenecker.

Culture and history

The historic building stock also includes the Činěves parish house, which was built in 1711–1712. The farm buildings were constructed by around 1750 at the latest. The parish house preserves a Baroque roof structure and a ceiling with wooden panelling.

The sculptor Černil created the monument with the statue of the Virgin Mary in 1892–1893 from fine-grained Hořice-type sandstone. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk was made by the stonemason Václav Bydžovský in Nový Bydžov and consecrated in 1866 by the parish priest František Šafránek.

The restored gravestone of Dorota Křinecká is permanently installed in the porch of the Church of Saint Wenceslas; it may occasionally be open to the public there.

Nature and water

The Zásadník pond is located in the cadastral area of Činěves and covers 62,516 m². A retention basin with an area of 8,488 m² is located immediately next to it. It serves to retain water from snowmelt in spring and to store rainwater during heavy rainfall.

The Zásadník pond is a municipal fishing water intended for anglers and the general public. There is also a public campsite next to the pond, offering overnight accommodation in cabins.

Events

Every year on the first Sunday in July, Činěves hosts the traditional Bohemian pilgrimage commemorating the consecration of the Marian monument. The gathering of historic vehicle collectors in Činěves is also a recurring event. The 15th edition was scheduled for Saturday, 1 August 2026, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the grounds of the parish farmstead.
