Zbožíčko: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Zbožíčko was first mentioned in written historical sources in 1410. From 1555 onward, the village belonged to the Benátky estate after Jindřich z Donína bought the villages of Zbožíčko and Straky from the Mitrovský von Nemyšl family.

History

In the past, an extensive forest stretched between Zbožíčko and Straky. Remnants of it can still be found today in the home gardens and around the village pond on the village square.

The village's historic and more recent memorials include a cross dating from 1877, a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary dating from 2005, and a war memorial from 2010. Zbožíčko is also home to a sandstone statue of Saint Florian from 2018, created by the sculptor Bartoloměj Štěrba. Two functioning sundials from 2012 add further distinctive details to the villagescape.

Water

The pond can be reached via a footpath that begins immediately after crossing the bridge over the Vlkava. The Zbožíčko weir is located on the southern edge of Zbožíčko, near a fishing hut and a children's playground.

The metal bridge at the Zbožíčko weir also serves as a footbridge over the watercourse and provides access to the opposite bank.
