Čejkovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

On all sides, Čejkovice is surrounded by fields and forests. Near the village centre rises Skála Hill with a quarry; it reaches an elevation of 455 metres above sea level. Road 1306 ends in Čejkovice.

Landscape and Nature

A large protected oak tree grows in Čejkovice. It was planted at the beginning of the 15th century and has a trunk circumference of approximately 730 centimetres.

Culture and History

The wooden Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk dates from 1898. It has a wooden bell tower and stands between the lower and upper village green.

The first written mention of Čejkovice dates from 1360. Originally, the village belonged to the Monastery of Saint Procopius in Sázava. In the Middle Ages, Čejkovice was part of the Chlum estate, which was ruled from a castle in neighbouring Chlum. Chlum Castle was built near Čejkovice around 1276. The ruins of Chlum Castle are located near Čejkovice; three vaulted cellar rooms have been preserved.
