Barat is home to the Church of Saints Blaise and Fusca. It was built on the initiative of the parish priest Giovanni Declich and blessed in 1770 by the Bishop of Pula. According to local tradition, the inhabitants of Barat came from the hinterland of Dubrovnik, which probably explains their veneration of Blaise and Fusca as patron saints.
