Strpačići: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Copper earrings and pins from the Bronze Age originate from Sterpazzi (Strpačići). The area around Višnjan is considered to have been inhabited by Illyrians between 2000 and 1000 BC. Later, the same area is considered to have been inhabited by Celts.

Culture and history

The Višnjan Observatory in the immediate vicinity is associated with discoveries of small celestial bodies and with astrotourism. Tičan is the venue for Astrofesta, a festival in honour of the summer solstice. In Barat stands the Church of St Blaise and St Fosca, which dates from the 16th century and was extensively repaired in 1895.

Trails and landscape

The Zvjezdana staza starts in the centre of Višnjan and leads through forest paths, vineyards and surrounding villages towards Tićan. It is a gentle, undemanding route suitable for families and those seeking relaxation.

The Sovina staza is a marked 7.7-kilometre hiking trail that begins in the pine grove near the cemetery in Višnjan and reaches the Vena viewpoint. From there, the view extends across olive groves, vineyards and the sea.

The Staza venecijanskog lava runs for 4.5 kilometres through historic Višnjan and Barat in the immediate vicinity; the route takes approximately 2.5 hours.

The Višnjan area is home to vineyards, olive groves, forests, caves and sinkholes. From the viewpoint in Višnjan’s old town, the view extends over green fields and vineyards to the sea towards Poreč and Tar.

Strpačići lies next to Barat in the immediate suburban area of Višnjan; this area is suitable for hiking and cycling.
