Nature

Part of the Skakavac nature monument area lies within the municipality of Vogošća. The wider area around the Skakavac waterfall was declared a nature monument in 2001. The waterfall is home to a rich variety of plant and animal life, making it an important natural feature of the surrounding area.

Above Vogošća, near the village of Tihovići, Motka mountain lodge is located at an altitude of 1,254 metres. It offers good opportunities for outdoor recreation and hiking. The mountain lodge can accommodate up to 50 people and has a play area for young visitors.

Events and exercise

Vogošća 5K is a traditional local race. The route consists of two laps of 2.5 kilometres each and has a total elevation gain of 32 metres. A trail race with four routes takes place at Skakavac every year. Both events represent different forms of running and exercise in the Vogošća area.

The Vogošćanski Dani event has been organised for several years by the Municipality of Vogošća and KSC Vogošća. The Vogošća Cultural and Sports Centre has changing rooms and showers, including changing rooms for people with disabilities and developmental impairments.

Culture

A stone inscription associated with Publie Elie Victorin is part of the permanent exhibition at the Museum of Sarajevo. Another historical reference can be found in Semizovac: the monument to the light bulb commemorates the installation of the first light bulb in the Balkans.

Vogošća can be reached via the Bosanski Brod–Sarajevo–Metković main road. In addition, a section of the Vc motorway runs through the municipality of Vogošća, in the Krivoglavci local community.
