Mislata: Art, Parks and Valencian Traditions

A special natural area in Mislata is the La Canaleta botanical route. The botanical trail is 1 km long and runs through the central area of the park. It is accessible via the park's three main entrances and features information boards with QR codes. Along the route, you can learn about the characteristics of 21 tree species and 23 shrub species in the park. The route length, signage and botanical information offer different focuses for planning your day.

Nature

A 10,000 m² public green and recreational area was created near the protected surroundings of Pou del Quint and the municipal gardens. The green area next to Pou del Quint features fully accessible paths, picnic tables and an agility park for pets. Parque de La Canaleta also has a picnic area with paella grills.

Leisure

The Parc Infantil de Trànsit La Canaleta is an educational and recreational area for schools, families and leisure activities. Its facilities include a cycling and go-kart circuit with traffic lights and road signs. The La Canaleta sports complex includes tennis courts, frontón, padel, futsal, skateboarding and athletics facilities, as well as football pitches with artificial turf. The sports complex also has an outdoor summer swimming pool. The different types of activities can be clearly distinguished when planning individual days.

Culture

The Casa-Taller de la Fundación Miquel Navarro houses more than 400 works donated by the artist. It is located in the historic studio where Miquel Navarro worked for more than 40 years. The permanent exhibition includes sculptures, photographs, paintings, specialist publications and medium-format works. As the Casa Taller of the Fundació Miquel Navarro, the building is both a museum and a versatile complex in the Morería neighbourhood in the historic centre of Mislata. The Casa Taller is designed for temporary exhibitions and various events that combine education, culture and art.

The Biennal de Mislata Miquel Navarro is a contemporary art initiative that follows in the tradition of the “Vila de Mislata” biennials for sculpture and painting held from 1985 to 2008. It was held for the first time in 2016 and supports visual arts projects by emerging artists from different regions. The Iglesia de la Virgen de los Ángeles is Mislata's oldest church and dates from the 18th century. La Cruz del término dates from the 15th century and marks the boundary between Valencia and Mislata. The Convent de la Mare de Deu al Peu de la Creu dates from the mid-20th century, has a contemporary design and features a single-nave layout.

Events

Mislata Art al Carrer brings the performing arts to the streets of Mislata. The festival, commonly known as MAC, is held regularly and was founded more than ten years ago. The Fiestas Patronales y Populares de Mislata are organised by the city's two Clavarías in honour of the Virgen de los Ángeles and the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe. These festivities include Moros y Cristianos, large paellas, fireworks and processions.

Getting Around

The public entrance to the Museo de Historia de Valencia is located at C/ Valencia 42 in Mislata. The Museo de Historia de Valencia lists EMT city buses, Metrovalencia and tourist buses as transport connections.
