Paths and nature
The Camino Natural de l’Antic Trenet runs along Carrer de l’Estació to the former La Barraca d’Aigües Vives railway station. From the station, the path runs parallel to the GR-236, the Route of the Monasteries. A 5.7-kilometre section of the Camino Natural de l’Antic Trenet follows the trackbed of the former railway line that connected Carcaixent with Dénia.
The area around the former La Barraca d’Aigües Vives railway station has been converted into a park. The only surviving building at the former station now serves as a socio-cultural centre; a former railway keeper’s hut can also be seen nearby.
Culture and history
In the area around La Barraca d’Aigües Vives, the present-day building of the Real Monasterio de Santa María de Aguas Vivas was constructed in the Valencian Gothic style during the 16th and 17th centuries. Admission for days of recollection or retreats at the Casa de Espiritualidad San Juan de Ribera is possible upon request with the approval of the parish priest or spiritual companion.

The Aguas Vivas Valley is bordered by the Sierra de las Agujas. Orange groves dominate the landscape on the broad plain near La Barraca d’Aigües Vives.
