The Museo CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo is a museum and centre for contemporary art focusing on current artistic and cultural practices in the Madrid region, Spain and internationally. Culture and History

The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción is a Mudejar-style building. Following numerous restorations, only the apse and tower of its historic structure remain. The semicircular apse is decorated with horseshoe arches.

The Museo de la Ciudad de Móstoles features a permanent exhibition on the city's history from the 19th century to the present day. The Casa-Museo de Andrés Torrejón was restored and furnished with items from the early 19th century to illustrate domestic life during the period of the Spanish War of Independence. Andrés Torrejón lived and died in this house.

The Ermita de Nuestra Señora de los Santos was built at the beginning of the 17th century in the Jesuit style and features a Churrigueresque altarpiece. The Teatro del Bosque hosts the most important theatre, dance and music performances offered by the Ayuntamiento de Móstoles.

Nature and Trails

Móstoles has more than 2 million square metres of green space distributed across its various neighbourhoods. The Parque Regional del Curso Medio del río Guadarrama y su entorno is a protected natural area that includes Móstoles.

The Senda de Móstoles a El Álamo starts in Móstoles and reaches the Río Guadarrama after 4 km. The linear walking and hiking trail is classified as low difficulty, is 18.3 km long in one direction and has a stated walking time of 6 to 7 hours. Over a distance of 7 km, the Senda runs parallel to the Río Guadarrama. The different route lengths and the stated walking time provide several points of reference for personal day planning.

Getting There and City Tours

The Museo CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo can be reached by Renfe via line C5, by metro via Móstoles Central and Pradillo, and by bus lines L1, L2, 519, 520, 521, 525, 526 and 527. On the first Sunday of each month, the Ayuntamiento de Móstoles organises free guided tours of historic Móstoles.
