Culture and Mudéjar

The Iglesia de Santa María del Castillo houses an altarpiece from the mid-16th century attributed to the assembler Gaspar de Tordesillas. The Iglesia de San Miguel has an attached chapel dedicated to the Virgen de la Soterraña; the church also contains a Plateresque altarpiece by Gaspar de Tordesillas.

A Romanesque apse survives from the Iglesia de San Andrés and is considered one of the best-preserved of its period. The church is currently used as an open-air auditorium. The Parque Temático del Mudéjar de Castilla y León features around twenty true-to-scale buildings based on significant Mudéjar structures from the region. A pilgrimage route leads into Olmedo's historic centre, where remnants of the former town walls have been preserved. The third and final stage of the Camino Natural Vía Verde del Valle del Eresma ends just under 600 metres from Olmedo.

The Laguna de Caballo de Alba can be seen along the stage of the Camino Natural Vía Verde del Valle del Eresma; it belongs to the LIC Lagunas de Coca y Olmedo, whose numerous smaller wetlands, some of them saline, serve as a refuge for many bird species. From Olmedo, the route initially follows the N-601 and shortly afterwards leaves the road via a path branching off to the right and running parallel to the N-601.
