The Iglesia Parroquial de Santa María Magdalena in Valdelagua del Cerro is stylistically classified as Gothic-Renaissance from the mid-16th century.

Between the presbytery and the transept, the church preserves a Gothic chapel with a ribbed vault. Its main altar features Romanist forms and dates from the mid-17th century. Painting adds another cultural dimension: “Arte en el Moncayo” is an established speed-painting competition presented by the municipalities of Valdelagua del Cerro and Ólvega; its third edition took place in 2026. Its programme once again includes the Certamen de Pintura Lenta “LA RINCONADA”. Speed painting and slow painting therefore represent two differently named competition formats. A mountain race was scheduled for the XI Valdelagua Cross in Valdelagua del Cerro on 23 May 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The formats mentioned can be distinguished according to religious tradition, painting and sporting activity.
