History

For the 2026 summer programme for opening 58 churches in the Diocese of Segovia, the Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol in Bernuy de Porreros was included for the first time.

The remains of the former settlement of San Medel lie between Bernuy de Porreros and Valseca. The ruins of the San Medel church, formerly the parish church of this settlement, still retain their bell gable.

The ruins of the Ermita de San Roque are located on the road to Espirdo in Soto de Arriba. The former building was a rectangular, single-nave temple with walls made of rubble masonry.

There are Celtiberian remains near San Medel.

Water from the Fuente de Rubiales was channelled to Zamarramala through a clay-pipe conduit; the water supply is documented for the year 1770.
