Aldealengua De Santa María: Romanesque Architecture, Festivals and Cycling Routes

Aldealengua De Santa María is home to the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, which was originally built in the Romanesque style and, following later restorations, developed into an eclectic church building. Its Romanesque entrance has three archivolts; the capitals are decorated with geometric and vegetal motifs. The church’s main altarpiece is a work by Antonio Martínez and dates from the Baroque period.

In the town centre is the Fuente de Aldealengua de Santa María. Built against a wall, the fountain consists of an elongated, L-shaped trough with two long spouts. The celebration in honour of the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús included a street procession with the dulzaineros “Hermanos Ramos”, a mass and procession, as well as a dance vermouth with the “Hermanos Ramos”. The programme also featured the mobile disco “Circus” with DJ Chack from 9:30 to 11:00 p.m.
