Culture and History

At one end of the town centre of Calzada de los Molinos stands the Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol. The three-nave church is made of brick and dressed stone and dates from the 17th to 18th centuries. Its older architectural and decorative traces include round and pointed arches, Renaissance paintings on the wooden ceiling of the lower choir, and a Mudéjar vault in the high altar area.
