The long-distance Sendeiro das Greas GR-58 trail runs through the municipality of O Porriño. Its approximately 22-kilometre route has a low to moderate difficulty level.

The Sendeiro dos Muíños is eight kilometres long. It passes through areas of great natural and ethnographic interest and has a low to moderate difficulty level. The Sendeiro das Insuas is a nine-kilometre circular trail of moderate difficulty. It starts and ends at the A Veiguiña picnic area. The route leads to a viewpoint overlooking Faro de Budiño and the Louriña Valley.

Nature

The Ribeira do Louro – Gándaras de Budiño route is eight kilometres long and has a low difficulty level. It can be completed on foot or by bicycle. It starts and ends at the Gándaras ornithological observatory. The route lies within the Natura network.

The complex of lagoon and riverside woodland shaped by the Louro River comprises a maze of streams, pools, seasonal ponds and permanent lagoons. Permanent lagoons such as Fial, Centeáns and Budiño form part of this maze.

Different landscape features therefore come together within a small thematic area: riverside woodland, open bodies of water, smaller watercourses and seasonally changing ponds. The names Fial, Centeáns and Budiño identify the permanent lagoons within the complex shaped by the Louro.

Cycling and Pilgrimage

The Ruta Cicloturista O Porriño circular route is 30.87 kilometres long. It has 594 metres of elevation gain and a moderate difficulty level. The estimated duration is three and a half hours. The route is designed particularly for mountain bikes and gravel bikes.

The relevant section of the Portuguese Way runs from Gándaras de Budiño to O Porriño. It is 5.9 kilometres long. The difficulty level ranges from moderate to high. Its estimated duration is approximately one hour and ten minutes.

Culture

The Church of San Salvador de Budiño belonged to an 11th-century monastery. It preserves an almost intact Romanesque main chapel from the mid-12th century. The Templete de San Luís was designed in 1919 for the Madrid Metro. In 1971, it was partially relocated to O Porriño.

The Área Recreativa da Risca has a picnic area. From there, there are beautiful views of the town and the Louriña Valley. The Área Recreativa da Risca also includes an interesting example of a Galician hórreo.

The Can de Pedra is a three-metre-high stone sculpture. It is an attraction in Cans during the festival and throughout the year. Next to the Church of Cans is a place that pays tribute to the great figures of cinema who have visited the village.
