Culture
The Monastery of San Xoán de Poio was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1971. It houses two cloisters, one of the country's most important monastic libraries, with more than 100,000 volumes, and a monumental granary.
The library is therefore one of the most extensive of the named components of the monastery complex, while the two cloisters and the granary constitute further independent elements of the monument.
Combarro preserves a traditional maritime settlement built of granite, with around 60 hórreos. An access permit is required to visit Tambo Island. In addition, you need a ticket for an organised boat trip departing from Combarro.
Visiting Tambo therefore requires both the permit and the ticket for the organised boat trip from Combarro. Combarro combines its maritime settlement structure with the granite-built hórreos.
The Centro Arqueolóxico da Caeira Museum is located in the vicinity of Monte Bouza. The A formiga no carreiro Museum is also in the vicinity. Combarro's Cross monument is located in the immediate vicinity of Monte Bouza.
