Culture
The Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Torre de Don Miguel is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural in the Monument category. Its architectural design reflects Gothic and Renaissance building periods in Extremadura. The church combines a 15th-century nave with a chancel designed by the architect Pedro de Ybarra in the 16th century.
The Barrio del Cancillo preserves narrow, winding streets with projecting passageways, as well as echoes of Islamic and Hebrew building traditions. The Casa de la Encomienda is a notable example of civil architecture. The Rollo Jurisdiccional of Torre de Don Miguel dates from 1428. The Ermita del Cristo is a religious monument from the first third of the 15th century.
Experiences
Along an easy and short walking route, visitors can see four restored old oil mills at the Los Molinos de Torre de Don Miguel site. Much of the historic technology has been preserved in them, making the traditional process of grinding olives comprehensible. The „Los Molinos de La Torre“ Archaeological Park includes well-preserved old oil mills built between the 15th and 17th centuries.
The Los Molinos site on the Arroyo San Juan is located along a path beside the stream, which has now been developed as a natural swimming area. The GR 10 E-05 leaves Torre de Don Miguel via the Camino de Gata; the stage is 3 km long and classified as moderately difficult. The PR-CC 181 Valle del Tralgas ends in Torre de Don Miguel after a 33.5 km linear route. The different route lengths help distinguish between short and long walking options during the planning stage.
