Culture

The Church of San Antonio de Padua in Cedillo is a 19th-century Neo-Gothic building made of slate and brick. A modern Portuguese dialect called “Cedilhero” is spoken in Cedillo; it is increasingly falling out of use and is spoken mainly by older residents. “La Enfariná” is a local festival in which residents throw flour at one another and end the festival covered in white. There are 23 dolmens in the area, small burial sites made of slate.
