The Puente de los Romanillos is the current name of the bridge over the Garganta de San Andrés on the Roman Vía de la Plata. This provides two different route formats: a Vía Verde along a former railway line and a circular route with a named starting point. The combination of hiking and cycling on the Vía Verde is as distinctive in its own way as the La Burila circular route. Those organizing the routes conceptually can treat the railway line and the circular course as separate focal points rather than equating the two routes.

Regional Tradition

The paprika powder from Aldeanueva del Camino is traditionally dried over holm-oak smoke. During the Fiesta del Pimentón, held in the first weeks of October, the traditional harvesting, drying and grinding of these peppers is reenacted. The product thus appears both as a traditional processing step and as the subject of a festival held at a specified time.

The paprika tradition complements the historical and landscape-related themes with an insight into regional processing.
