Nature and Coast

Culture and History

The Església de Sant Jaume de Creixell was built between the 16th and 17th centuries over an older Romanesque church.

Before the Campanar de Creixell was completed, the parish priest Mossèn Ramon Martí i Capdevila commissioned Jujol to complete it. In 1917, Josep Maria Jujol restored the Campanar de Creixell. Its structure is based on two large catenary arches.

Creixell is part of the Parc Cultural del Baix Gaià and is included in the Ruta dels Castells del Baix Gaià. The Vila Romana contains the ruins of a Roman house originating from a villa on the outskirts of Creixell, which is dated to the 2nd to 1st century BC.

The Festa del Santíssim Sagrament, also known as the Festa de la Minerva, always takes place on the third Sunday in September. It includes the traditional Processó del Pa Beneit through the streets of Creixell. An auction of the Coca del Goig is also part of this festival.

Paths and Water

Anell Verd (1), the Torredembarra–Creixell route, is a low-difficulty route covering approximately 5.30 km. On foot, it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes; by mountain bike, 35 minutes. The information for the two modes of transport helps classify the same route by duration and personal planning.

Water sports can be practised at Platja de Creixell; the Club Nàutic houses a base of the Escola Catalana de Vela.
