The medieval old town of Sant Mori is designated as a first-grade protected ensemble.

Culture

The Església de Sant Maurici is an 18th-century church documented since the 13th century. It is also a Baroque building erected between 1750 and 1788 in place of an earlier church, which is already documented from the 13th century.

The single-nave interior of the Església de Sant Maurici has a pointed barrel vault, side chapels and a semicircular apse.

The remains of the pre-Romanesque rural Església de Sant Julià, also known as Sant Julià del Mas Sala, are located at Mas Sala less than half a kilometre south of Sant Mori. The church dates from before the 10th century and has a trapezoidal apse.

The Castell de Sant Mori has been documented since 1149. Between the Castell and Puig districts stands a Gothic-Renaissance wayside cross from the 16th century.

The present-day Castell de Sant Mori is a Renaissance building erected on the ruins of an earlier castle; traces of it can still be found on the Plaça Major de Sant Mori.

The present-day main settlement of Sant Mori comprises a Renaissance castle, a Romanesque-style church and surrounding houses. Most of these houses date from the 17th and 18th centuries, while some were built on older fortification walls.

The building history of the old town therefore spans several centuries: the earlier church documented since the 13th century was followed by the Baroque building erected between 1750 and 1788. The Renaissance form of the Castell likewise points to an older complex. Together with the wayside cross between Castell and Puig and the traces on the Plaça Major, this identifies various historical layers within the town.

On 15 October 1466, Queen Joana Enríquez summoned the Corts Catalanes from her palace in Sant Mori.

The Molí fariner was converted into a power station by Enric Masó i Escubós between 1909 and 1913.
