Beach and Nature

Viladecans Beach is 2.4 kilometres long. A coastal pine forest planted to stabilise the dunes separates it from the rest of the inland area. Playa del Pinar is partially protected by the Natura 2000 network. Playa de la Murtra is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Thus, in addition to the long shoreline, the coast includes the pine forest, the protected status of Playa del Pinar and the designated accessibility of Playa de la Murtra.

Culture and History

Ca n’Amat is the headquarters of the Viladecans Museum. Its permanent exhibition, “Viladecans al 1800”, displays original furniture from the masía. The furnishings on display date from the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century. The name of the exhibition refers to its historical focus, while the furniture documents the stated period through original furnishings from the masía.

The Ermita de Santa Maria de Sales is a Romanesque building documented since 1141. It stands on the structures of a Roman villa dating from the 2nd century BC. The Viladecans Museum organises free guided tours of historic buildings in the city. The hermitage is therefore described both through its Romanesque architectural history and through the older Roman structures. The museum’s tours include historic buildings within the city.

Activities

The Parc Agrari in the Viladecans area includes paths and routes for walking and cycling. Casa de las Abejas offers activities every weekend. These include experimental workshops and guided visits to the beehive at Mas Ratés. Les Tanques offers families activities with farm animals and ponies. At Casa de las Abejas, the timeframe for the activities is explicitly every weekend. The activities there range from experimental workshops to guided visits to the beehive at Mas Ratés. For Les Tanques, families are identified as the target group; this offering includes farm animals and ponies.
