Castellar de n'Hug features a cohesive architectural ensemble in its historic centre. Traditional houses, streets and squares are part of this well-preserved townscape.

Culture

Santa Maria de n'Hug is a Romanesque parish church dating from the 11th century. Its bell tower has been almost completely preserved.

Sant Vicenç de Rus was consecrated by Ot de Pallars in 1006. The single-nave Romanesque church dates from the 12th century.

Sant Vicenç de Rus contains linear Gothic wall paintings. Reproductions of 12th-century wall paintings are also on display there.

Sant Joan de Cornudell is a Romanesque chapel in the Pyrenees. It dates from the 9th century and is located on a small hill.

During a visit to the Museu del Ciment Asland, visitors can explore important areas of the former factory. There, they can learn more about cement, mortar and the Catalan vault.

The Museu del Pastor is a documentation centre about the shepherd's profession. It conveys the historical memory of this profession.

The town's cultural offering therefore brings together different architectural forms and themes: the parish church, single-nave church and chapel complement the two museums. The religious buildings combine Romanesque architecture with traces from different periods, from the 9th-century chapel to the wall paintings and reproductions in Sant Vicenç de Rus.

Nature

Part of the municipal area of Castellar de n'Hug lies within the Parc Natural del Cadí-Moixeró.

Les Fonts del Llobregat are the main drainage outlet of a karst aquifer. This aquifer formed in Devonian limestone between Puigllançada and Pleta Roja.

The karst aquifer drains an area of more than 20 km².

The information about the natural environment therefore includes both the protected landscape and the geological context of the spring. The karst aquifer lies between Puigllançada and Pleta Roja and drains the Devonian limestone there over an area of more than 20 km².

Hiking

The hike from Castellar de n'Hug to Clot del Moro is 6.0 km long. It follows the old royal road from Castellar de n'Hug to La Pobla de Lillet.

Along the route, the trail follows the course of the Llobregat River to the Museu del Ciment.

The route thus connects the starting point, Castellar de n'Hug, La Pobla de Lillet and the Museu del Ciment. Its two defining reference points are the old royal road and the course of the Llobregat River; Clot del Moro is given as the destination.
