Culture

Traditions

The Fiesta de la Rosa del Azafrán includes the Festival Nacional de Folclore, featuring traditional music and dance groups from different parts of Spain. It also includes a saffron-thread stripping competition, in which skill and speed are rewarded. The festival takes place on the last full weekend of October and coincides with the saffron’s flowering and harvest.
