Rebollosa de Hita: Church, Landscape and MTB
Rebollosa de Hita begins with a striking historical detail: the parish church was built in the 16th century over an older Mudejar structure.
Culture
Inside, the parish church has a simple dark-wood artesonado ceiling. From the church portico, you can see the Olmar Valley with its tree-lined avenue, as well as the Yesares and Alberizas hills. In the village, a fountain bears the year of construction, 1884. The architecture, landscape views and date of construction create different focal points for a tour of Rebollosa de Hita. The interior, portico and fountain stand as distinct stops alongside one another: the building’s history, the broad view and a specific historical date each provide their own perspective on the village.
Cycling
The 11th edition of the Desafío Puerta de la Alcarria offers a long and a short MTB route, both of which pass through Rebollosa de Hita. The course runs through Monte de Rebollosa and combines tracks and paths with continuous changes in elevation. In this edition, Rebollosa is home to the second and final refreshment station, approximately at kilometre 35. The two route formats therefore differ mainly in their length, while the shared course through Monte de Rebollosa and the changing paths form a connecting element. The approximate kilometre indication also marks a specific station within the event’s long course.
Landscape
A hiking route reaches Rebollosa de Hita via rural and agricultural paths. By comparison, the MTB event focuses on tracks and paths with continuous changes in elevation. Two different types of route thus emerge: one through an agriculture-dominated landscape and sporting courses through Monte de Rebollosa.

Experiences
At the San Silvestre in Rebollosa de Hita, the 2025 course included paths, sections across fields and roads in the village. Before the start, participants were offered hot chocolate and homemade sponge cake. On 16 August 2026, the San Roque celebration in Rebollosa de Hita included a mass, a procession and auctions. The two dates show different forms of event: the New Year celebration combines a mixed running course with refreshments before the start, while the August event is characterised by religious and community activities.
