Admission to the Reserva Ornitológica Municipal de Azuqueca de Henares is free, but requires an appointment to be booked in advance. Culture
The Iglesia parroquial de Santa Teresa de Jesús was created by relocating and rebuilding the parish church of Alcorlo, which was flooded by a reservoir in 1978. Some elements of the church of Sacedoncillo were also incorporated into the Iglesia parroquial de Santa Teresa de Jesús; Sacedoncillo was a village that disappeared. The church is located in the Asfain district in the north of Azuqueca de Henares.
The Iglesia parroquial de San Miguel is a Renaissance church with an elaborately sculpted portal. At the Centro de Interpretación de la Historia y Cultura Local, visitors can learn about the development of the municipality over the centuries. The Ermita de la Soledad is one of the most important sights in Azuqueca de Henares.
Events
The Muestra Nacional de Teatro Espiga de Oro takes place in Azuqueca de Henares in November and offers theatre performances on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month. The programme also includes complementary activities such as parades and exhibitions.
