Tarazona de la Mancha: culture, traditions and wide horizons

Tarazona de la Mancha is located on the La Mancha plain in the province of Albacete. Farmland, vineyards and open horizons define the landscape. The Iglesia de San Bartolomé combines Renaissance elements with Baroque details. Its tower is topped by a slate spire, while the interior comprises three naves. Construction extended from 1549 to 1694, pointing to a long development in which different architectural influences were combined.

Another distinctive place is the Plaza de Toros de Tarazona de la Mancha. It was inaugurated on 2 September 1857 and is considered the oldest bullring in the province of Albacete, as well as one of the oldest in Castilla-La Mancha. Unlike many bullrings that dominate their surroundings from the outside, it is set into the ground rather than built upwards.
