Mazcuerras is also known as Luzmela. This name is connected to the town through Concha Espina’s novel “La niña de Luzmela”, in which the writer lived there. One of the town’s houses is also part of this literary connection: Concha Espina wrote part of her work “La niña de Luzmela” in this house, inspired by the surrounding area. Nature

Parque El Bosque features riverside vegetation including alders, poplars and willows. Otters and herons, among other species, can be found in the park.
