In Corvera de Toranzo stands the Casa Solariega de Díaz de Villegas, a rural palace dating from the 17th century. Its broad entrance area with four arches and the adjoining tower are among the visible architectural details, along with various coats of arms on the façades and entrance portal. In 1992, the Casa Solariega de Díaz de Villegas was declared a heritage monument as a Bien de Interés Cultural.

Culture

The Iglesia de San Juan Bautista is located in Corvera. The village also has a traditional Montañés bowling alley. Together with the palace and its architectural details, these represent different forms of the local cultural landscape: religious architecture, a rural palace and a traditional regional sporting venue.

The Casa Solariega brings together several clearly recognisable structural elements: the broad entrance area is defined by four arches, while the adjoining tower gives the building another distinctive form. The various coats of arms are displayed both on the façades and on the entrance portal. This makes it possible to view architecture and heraldic details together on the same building.

Trails

The Ruta de Corvera is a circular route connecting Corvera, Prases and Cillero. It is 7.2 kilometres long, has an elevation difference of 35 metres and is suitable for cycling or walking. After passing through Corvera, the route leads to the N-623.

Another route is offered by the Camino Natural de Corvera. It follows a paved path parallel to the Pas River and offers views of the Valle de Toranzo. The route passes through cultivated areas and alongside poplar trees. A small stream is crossed via a wooden footbridge.

The two routes therefore differ in the characteristics described: the Ruta de Corvera focuses on its circular format, the connection between several places, its 7.2-kilometre length and its 35-metre elevation difference. The Camino Natural is characterised by its paved course along the Pas, the cultivated areas, rows of poplars and the wooden bridge. For personal planning, the circular format, length, elevation difference and type of activity can be compared objectively side by side.
