Discover Anero: Torre de Rigada and Iglesia de San Félix
Two buildings with very different historical origins take centre stage in Anero. The present-day Torre de Rigada presumably dates from the mid-17th century and is in a state of complete disrepair. The oldest part of the Iglesia de San Félix is the transept, with Gothic pillars dating from the second half of the 15th century.
Culture
The Torre de Rigada has an approximately square floor plan and four storeys. A double round arch on the west façade leads into an entrance vestibule. It has no actual defensive features.
San Félix de Anero is one of the examples of late Gothic ecclesiastical architecture in the municipality of Ribamontán al Monte. The Iglesia de San Félix has a single-nave body with three bays, a transept with side chapels, a rectangular apse and a high choir at the western end. Construction of the Santa Teresa Chapel in the church began in 1640; it houses an aedicule crowned by the coat of arms of the Rigada family. The high altar is designed in the Counter-Reformation style and dates from around 1630.
Landscape
In the municipality of Ribamontán al Monte, the landscape is characterised by meadows. The River Pontones crosses the area, flowing from east to west into the Miera.
