San Bartolomé in Lanzarote can be explored through protected buildings, historical displays, ethnographic themes and trails with clearly named starting points. The Church of San Bartolomé in the municipality of San Bartolomé in Lanzarote is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural in the Monument category. The parish church was built between 1779 and 1783.

The Casa Mayor Guerra in San Bartolomé is also protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural. The Museo de Historia Local Casa del Mayor Guerra features five panels on the historical development of San Bartolomé.

The El Jable hiking trail begins in San Bartolomé on Calle Rubicón near Plaza León y Castillo. It passes through an area covered by windblown sands of marine origin, where sweet potatoes, wheat and barley are cultivated.

The Camino Natural de Lanzarote is 71 kilometres long, divided into five stages, suitable for hiking and accessible by bicycle along a very large part of the route.

The GR-131 long-distance hiking trail runs through the grounds of Casa Mayor Guerra, which are protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural. The Chimidas trail climbs from Casa Mayor Guerra and offers a panoramic view of San Bartolomé from above.

Getting there

Bus route 32 connects Playa Honda with Arrecife, passes through San Bartolomé and stops in the town.
