Villaviciosa: Holiday Apartments and Houses
The Ría de Villaviciosa extends from the area near Tazones between El Puntal and Rodiles beaches to the centre of Villaviciosa. It is an officially protected bird sanctuary covering an area of 1,500 hectares.

The Ruta de Carlos V (PR-AS 302) runs for 11 kilometres between Tazones and Villaviciosa, beginning in Tazones and ending at the Palacio de los Hevia in Villaviciosa. The signposted route connects marshland, waterfalls, pre-Romanesque churches and villages.
The Ruta de los Molinos del río Profundo is a 15.57-kilometre circular hike of moderate difficulty. It leads to the Molín de La Peña waterfall and the village of Buslaz and is lined with old watermills and mythological wooden figures.
The Yacimientos de Icnitas natural monument comprises sites with dinosaur footprints along several coastal sections between Villaviciosa, Colunga and Ribadesella. The Asturian dinosaur footprint sites are among the most significant Jurassic fossil sites in Spain.
Culture and History
The Church of San Salvador in Valdediós is an Asturian pre-Romanesque building that was consecrated in 893. The San Miguel and San Roque districts in Tazones are designated as a historic-artistic ensemble.
According to documentary records, the Church of San Juan de Amandi originated in the pre-Romanesque period; stylistically, it belongs to the Baroque phase of Asturian Romanesque and features Gothicising elements.
Prince Charles of Ghent stayed at the Casa de los Hevia in Villaviciosa from 19 to 23 September 1517 after landing at the port of Tazones.
The catches arriving at the port of Tazones are auctioned in the local fish auction hall.
